Fatehsagar Lake is said to be the pride of the City of Lakes of Udaipur. In the north of Lake Pichola flows the Fateh Sagar Lake, with a canal linking them. Fatah Sagar Lake is an artificial lake which was built by Maharana Jai Singh in 1678, primarily for irrigation and later it was renovated by Maharana Fateh Singhji.
A lovely garden, Nehru Park is placed on the midst of the lake, and one can enjoy boat ride from the shore to the Nehru garden.This lake and surroundings is an evening picnic spot for the localites. The lake is enclosed on three sides by hills and the Pratap Memorial and a beautiful temple Neemach Mata.
It looks more charming from the surrounding hills as sun rays dance upon the rippling water. Visitors and tourists can enjoy delicious cusines and food on its paal across. The beautiful Nehru Park with a boat shaped cafe is set in middle of lake and can be reached by boat. |
